2022 Workshops

COME AND JOIN US FOR OUR SKILLS CAMP WORKSHOP - September 16, 17 and 18 2022

WHAT: 1001-Level 1 & 2, NFPA 1072 Skills Camp.


WHERE: Alberta Beach Fire Station, Onoway Fire Station and Spruce Grove Training Facilities. 


WHEN: September 16, 17, and 18 of 2022.


WHY: Come join us to brush up on your 1001 level 1 and 2 skills as well as all your 1072 HAZMAT Operator skills. There will be countless live fire runs and many knowledgeable veterans to coach you along the way.  


PREREQUISITE: Proof of completion of NFPA 1001-L1. The participants must prove certification upon registration. 


COST: $250.00. Accommodations and transportation to and from training grounds and rental of the fire gear is included. Participants will be staying in our barracks which are equipped with beds, cooking facilities and a laundry room. 


SKILLS COVERED:


1001-L1

Attack an interior structure fire at ground level using a direct, indirect, and combination attack

Attack a structure fire using a transitional attack

Attack a structure fire above and below grade level using an interior attack

Attack a passenger vehicle fire

Extinguish a fire in a trash container


1001-L2

Assist at a rescue operation

Prevent horizontal movement of a wheel-resting passenger vehicle using chocks

Stabilize a wheel-resting passenger vehicle using cribbing

Lift a wheel-resting passenger vehicle using a jack

Remove laminated vehicle glass

Remove tempered vehicle glass

Open or remove a door with hydraulic tools

Remove the roof of a wheel-resting passenger vehicle

Displace a dashboard

Place a foam line in service — In-line eductor

Extinguish an ignitable liquid fire

Control a pressurized flammable gas container fire
