Standard First Aid and CPR Training

Everyone needs first aid! from construction workers to firefighters and everything in-between!

Do you like the idea of being able to help your family, friends, co-workers, and even strangers if they get into a bit of a medical pickle? If so, this is the course for you! All jokes aside, this program is designed to prepare any person for basic medical care in a first aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) capacity.

The Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR course offered by the Canadian Fire Rescue College is delivered in-person at the Red Deer Campus, and there is no pre-reading required leading up to the course.

The Standard First Aid and CPR course can be taken by any member of the public with no limitations or pre-requisites. This course is a pre-requite for virtually all of the other training programs offered by the college.

This training may also be required by employers in many un-related industries and professions.

This program does not require licensing through Alberta Advanced Education due to its short duration and low price.

Upon request, First Aid and CPR students may receive permission to stay overnight at the college dormitories. While there is no fee for this living arrangement, expect to not be staying at the Ritz! Students who demand a more luxurious living arrangement will have to seek it out at their own expense.
